Creative Writing Master of Fine Arts Prerequisites--Adequate preparation as determined by the head of the department and the major professor.  Students should submit a selection of 15 to 20 poems, several short stories, or a few chapters from a novel with a letter of application to the head of the department.   Requirements for the degree: English 671 or 672 12 English 673 and 675 6 English 674 or 676 3 English 513 or 514 3 Thesis (Novel or collection of short stories of poems) 6 Graduate English Electives 30 Total 60 One half of the total number of hours required for the degree shall be in courses open to graduate  students only.
